I am happy to see that our case counts continue to trend in the right direction. A reminder that the elementary school and high school are mask optional and the middle school will move to mask optional next Monday. Good Morning Franklin Families, I am pleased to share with you that our active Covid cases in the schools have dropped dramatically as currently we have 1 active case at the elementary school, 3 at the middle school and 2 at the high school. Therefore, I am notifying our families today that we are moving back to mask optional status on the following dates at the schools: elementary school 2/14/22, middle school 2/21/22, high school 2/14/22. Please remember that masks must still be worn on buses by federal mandate. We will continue to keep student desks 3 feet apart in the classrooms and continue our sanitizing mitigation strategies. We will take targeted approaches in the schools when we have cases like we were doing before we went to universal masking in the schools (classroom masking/wing masking if and when necessary). Good Morning – There will be a 2 hour delay today for the Franklin School District. This means school arrival and start times will be 2 hours later than usual, and the bus arrival times will be two hours later than usual. Be Safe!

I am hopeful that this downward trend in cases will continue so we can exit our outbreak status at the schools and consider revising our current masking protocols soon. I will keep you updated. Close contact notifications are being made. With the case count reduction at the elementary school we are transitioning tomorrow to 3 foot distancing in the cafeteria for breakfast and lunch. Fri's 2/4 FHS varsity bb games have been moved to SATURDAY Feb 5th....girls 2pm, boys 3:30pm...games played in the Franklin HIGH School gymnasium, which is not ergonomically set up to hold fans, so unfortunately there will be NO FANS allowed. We plan to Livestream...link TBD.

Good Afternoon Franklin Families, I am reaching out to give you an update on the situation with the heat at the middle school. We have the heating system up and running everywhere in the building except for the gymnasium. We have significant water in the gym from a burst coil and will need a couple of days to repair the heat in the gym. We will be back in school tomorrow but will be unable to use the gymnasium until these repairs are completed. We are working as quickly as possible to make this happen. Additionally, I have been notified of 6 Covid cases over the weekend and today. 3 high school students, 2 middle school students and 1 elementary student tested positive.
