Aquatic Biology Hits the River!!

On Wednesday, June 8, a group of 30 students from Franklin High School taking Mrs. Horn's Aquatic Biology class, hit the river!!  Through a partnership and support from Outdoor New England, students were able to spend time learning about the water and the river first hand while kayaking and floating with their classmates.

They cruised, studied the local watershed and had a ton of fun! Outdoor New England said it was an absolute treat to share the river with the students from FHS!

They talked river environments, laughed a lot, had to listen to a pirate all day, saw crayfish, a bald eagle and rescued a dog.  It was good day of learning, appreciating what their own city has to offer and using their community as a campus for exploration and discovery.
