Good Morning Franklin Families,
We have had a threat made at the Franklin High School which has necessitated us to evacuate the building and release students for the day. Students who drive their own vehicle or walk will be released. Students who ride the bus will be released as soon as the buses arrive. At this point, police are on site and this is only a threat. There has been no incident.
Sincerely,
Dan Legallo
Superintendent
SAU 18

Good Afternoon Franklin Families,
I am reaching out to let you know that at approximately 1:30 today I placed the elementary school in a "secure campus" due to heavy police activity at the bottom of Daniel Webster Drive. Secure campus means all students and staff remain inside the building and continue on with their normal learning routine.
The police incident disrupted our normal dismissal because of road closures but we were able to reroute buses to bring students home safely. Thank you for your patience with the delay.
I would like to commend the staff and students for their excellent response to this situation and keeping the students safe and learning. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Dan LeGallo

Good Evening Franklin Middle School Families,
I am reaching out to inform you that we had a written threat on the wall in the girl's bathroom at the middle school toward the end of the day today. The Franklin Police Department was called in and deemed the threat to be "not credible."
We are investigating the incident with the assistance of the Franklin Police Department. Please assist us by reminding your children/students if they see something or hear something that isn't safe to let a trusted adult know right away. It takes all of us to keep our schools safe for learning.
Sincerely,
Dan LeGallo

There will be an officer at all 3 schools this morning out of an abundance of caution and to reassure students and staff of their safety.
I would like to thank the Franklin Police Department for their swift response to this incident.
