Dear Franklin Families, I have been notified of 4 cases at the middle school, 1 staff member and 3 students (1 Pemi-Middle, 1 Pemi Prep, 1 Winni Middle). DHHS has informed us that they have identified 2 separate clusters (3 cases each) at the middle school which labels the school as in outbreak status. They conveyed that it sounds "scary" but it just means we have to ramp up on our masking in school. We will be asking all staff and students to mask up when 6ft. distancing cannot be maintained except for when consuming food and drink. This means that masks will be worn indoors at all times and outdoor mask breaks will be provided for students. I expect that this will continue until the holiday break. Please continue to monitor your child/children for symptoms and keep them home if they are sick. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. Sincerely, Dan LeGallo SAU 18 Superintendent dlegallo@gm.sau18.org

Dear Franklin Families, I have been notified that 1 staff member and 2 students at the middle school (Winni-Prep wing) have tested positive today for Covid 19. Close contact notifications are being made. Additionally, I have been informed by DHHS of a cluster at the high school from previous cases from last week and the week prior. The good news is that there have been no reported new cases the last 5 days at the high school and students from the cluster have started returning back to school. Because of this, we will continue with our 3ft. masking protocol at the high school. Thank you for your support in helping to keep our students and staff safe and healthy. Sincerely, Dan LeGallo SAU 18 Superintendent dlegallo@gm.sau18.org

Good Morning FMS Families As you all saw, Mother Nature has sent us a somewhat unexpected (though bound to show up sometime) couple of inches of snow today. Because so many children came to school unprepared, our daily 30 minute recess had to be indoors. Snow Today!!! This is to remind you that, unless it's raining or the wind chill is below 20 degrees, all students will have outdoor recess, in order to get necessary exercise and fresh air. Please send your child to school with warm clothes and boots. If they want to play in the snow (yes we have sleds) they need a winter coat, snow pants, a winter hat and gloves or mittens please. On another note, only buses are allowed in front of the school in the morning. After the last bus arrives you are allowed to drop off out front. The way to know this is if there is no crossing guard present. My occasional replacement or I stay out until the last bus arrives. If you have questions regarding this or any other issue, please contact us or your child's teachers. Thanks for your help with this! Mr. Trafton and Mr. D
