The first Franklin Middle School Red Cross Blood Drive went very well. We saw 28 donors altogether, with 9 first-time donors! Overall, we collected 32 units, exceeding our goal of 28 units. Franklin should be really proud that we had 7 power red donations in just a 4-hour timeframe- the first power red donation being by Mr. D! Mr. Trafton and Mr. Cole also joined in! It was so popular that we are planning on a repeat on May 11! More Pics https://photos.app.goo.gl/iNPYJAnHy4BPrbUw7

Dear Franklin Families, I have been notified that 3 elementary students and 3 middle school students tested positive for Covid-19. Close contact notifications are being made. I also wanted to notify you that starting tomorrow we will no longer be conducting temperature checks on students entering the buildings. This mitigation strategy will be removed from our reopening plan moving forward. I ask that you continue to monitor your children for symptoms each morning and keep them home if they are sick. I also wanted to clarify that when students test positive for Covid, they do not need to retest on day 5 in order to return to school, they just need to have been fever free for at least 24 hours and have symptoms subsiding. Students must wear a well fitting mask from day 6-10 when they return to school. Please feel free to reach out to me or our school nurses if you have any questions. Sincerely, Dan LeGallo SAU #18 Superintendent dlegallo@gm.sau18.org

Good Afternoon Franklin Families, I have been notified of 10 cases today. 1 elementary student, 7 middle school students, 1 high school student and 1 high school staff member have tested positive for Covid-19. Close contact notifications are being made. The nurses are finalizing our Covid protocols from the guidance we received from the CDC and DHHS. I will be sharing that with you tomorrow in my update. I also wanted to remind all of our families that masks are mandatory on all school buses per federal mandate. Please be sure that your child has a mask each morning when they board the bus. On a personal note, I am doing well and will be out of quarantine and back in the office Friday. :) Sincerely, Dan LeGallo SAU 18 Superintendent dlegallo@gm.sau18.org

Dear Franklin Families, I hope you enjoyed the long weekend. Below are the positive Covid case totals at each school over the last 4 days (Saturday through Tuesday) 9 students, 7 staff at elementary school 3 students, 1 staff at middle school 3 students, 2 staff at high school I anticipate that DHHS will be declaring an outbreak (2 clusters of 3 cases each in the school) at the elementary school and high school so I am moving all 3 schools to 6 foot masking starting tomorrow which essentially means that students and staff will need to wear masks indoors at all times unless they are eating or drinking or 6 feet away from others. (middle school is already at 6 feet). Mask breaks will be provided. As we are seeing this uptick in cases at all 3 schools it is essential that if students are sick that they stay home from school. Please continue to screen your child/children for symptoms each morning. If your child tests positive, please inform the school nurse as quickly as possible and they will provide guidance to you. Thank you for your continued support. Dan LeGallo SAU 18 Superintendent dlegallo@gm.sau18.org
