It's a week full of hearts and math in Miss Gilbert's classroom! We had fun reading stories all about friendship and kindness . After reading the story, The Day it Rained Hearts by Felicia Bond we made our heart people craft from cut out hearts that rained from the sky!
Our student intern from PSU, Miss Alli, has been teaching us about place value! We made our own monster symbols for greater than, less than and equal to! She taught us how to play a game called War of Hearts! This game helped us practice our math skill of greater than, less than and equal to! We LOVED this game! You can play it at home too with a deck of regular playing cards! Just flip over two cards and have your students tell you which card is greater than, less than or equal too! Have fun!
