Good Afternoon Franklin Families, I am transitioning to providing weekly only updates on Covid cases in the school district. I will be providing these updates each Monday to inform you about cases in the schools. With the reduction in cases, I hope this helps to bring back some sense of normalcy to all of our families. I have been notified that 1 middle school staff member and 2 high school students tested positive for Covid 19 over vacation. No close school contacts were identified. A reminder that the middle school will be mask optional starting on Monday except for when students are riding on the school buses. This is still required by federal mandate. Good afternoon, I have been notified that 1 elementary student tested positive over the weekend and today. Close contact notifications are being made. I am happy to see that our case counts continue to trend in the right direction. A reminder that the elementary school and high school are mask optional and the middle school will move to mask optional next Monday. Good Morning Franklin Families, I am pleased to share with you that our active Covid cases in the schools have dropped dramatically as currently we have 1 active case at the elementary school, 3 at the middle school and 2 at the high school. Therefore, I am notifying our families today that we are moving back to mask optional status on the following dates at the schools: elementary school 2/14/22, middle school 2/21/22, high school 2/14/22. Please remember that masks must still be worn on buses by federal mandate. We will continue to keep student desks 3 feet apart in the classrooms and continue our sanitizing mitigation strategies. We will take targeted approaches in the schools when we have cases like we were doing before we went to universal masking in the schools (classroom masking/wing masking if and when necessary). Good Morning – There will be a 2 hour delay today for the Franklin School District. This means school arrival and start times will be 2 hours later than usual, and the bus arrival times will be two hours later than usual. Be Safe!

2/7/22 Good Afternoon Franklin Families, I have been notified of 1 case in the past 4 days, a middle school student. I am hopeful that this downward trend in cases will continue so we can exit our outbreak status at the schools and consider revising our current masking protocols soon. I will keep you updated.
