Image of a solar eclipse

Dear Franklin Families,

I am reaching out to you in preparation for the historic solar eclipse that we are excited about this coming Monday afternoon.  We will be having a full day of school for our students but wanted you to know that students can be dismissed early to experience this event with their families as an excused absence.

I am also pleased to share that thanks to middle school science teacher, Kelly Neil, we have secured 1,000 pairs of glasses to distribute to students and staff so they can experience the eclipse safely.  The glasses will be distributed on Monday at all 3 schools.  Please reinforce with your children the importance of using the glasses to safely view the eclipse.

As always, feel free to reach out with any questions.  I hope you enjoy this exciting event.

Sincerely,

Dan LeGallo
