Helen Rego was a public school teacher for over 40 years. A great number of those years were with the 5th and 6th grade students. She is best remembered by her students for her high standards of excellence and equally high expectations.
The Helen Rago Award is given to the 6th grade student who has consistently demonstrated overall superior academic achievement.
